Beatrix (Eva Sommer) spends the summer alone in a strange house. She takes care of the dusty interior, makes phone calls, watches TV, rolls around the garden on an exercise ball, waters the flowers, lounges around in her underwear. A friend's visit turns into a nuisance when she brings her boyfriend along. Everyday life and idleness find a shape in BEATRIX, which was shot in analogue. From many small fragments, a portrait of a young woman emerges that is as intimate as it is unobtrusive. It is about nothing less than an uncertain sense of being alive.

Director's Biography:Milena Czernovsky (*1993) has been studying stage and film design at the University of Applied Arts in Vienna since 2016. Lilith Kraxner (*1995) has been studying at the Academy of Fine Arts Vienna in the class for video and video installation since 2018. BEATRIX is their joint directorial debut.
