The married Michael suffers from the Fragoli syndrome, the illusory belief that different people are in reality one person. During a business trip, the business man meets the fun-loving Lisa in a hotel. Not actors, but puppets are the players in this partly surreal, sometimes hyperrealistic tragicomedy. Based on his stage play, Charlie Kaufman, celebrated for his scripts for ADAPTION, BEING JOHN MALKOVITCH, ETERNAL SUNSHINE OF THE SPOTLESS MIND, and his co-director Duke Johnson have created a narrative and technical masterpiece of the slow motion film.
