Gioia is just 18 years old and lives in a friendly little village community not far from the healing spring full of miracle water. She tends the family sheep, sells cheese and milk and is appreciated by all for her generous and helpful nature. Things could hardly be more fairytale-like, if it weren't for her father Bruno's resurgent gambling addiction. In an attempt to help him, she leaves her familiar surroundings behind and fearlessly moves with him to the city, where professional support is expected to bring a cure. ANIMA BELLA shows the strength of a young woman who faces her life unflinchingly.

Director's Biography:Dario Albertini, *1974 in Italy, already achieved initial success with his documentary films. His feature film debut MANUEL won international attention, especially in Venice. Triple award winner at Cinemed - Festival Cinema Mediterranéen Montpellier 2017.
