Since many years, the Kara family lives in Zurich, dominated by their strictly religious father Abdullah. Unlike his siblings, Burak, the youngest son, struggles with his beliefs and with the lack of appreciation from his father. Under such pressure, he decides to devoutly follow the words of the Quran and he sets out to join the “holy war”. In search of his son, Abdullah travels to the Syrian-Turkish border region where fate presents him with a second chance. A moving family drama with Kida Khodr Ramadan in a leading role.

Director's Biography:Esen Işik was born in Istanbul in 1969. She graduated from the Zurich Academy of Fine Arts. After multiple nominations for the Swiss Film Award, her feature film KÖPEK won in the category “Best Film”.
