Zeynep lives in a dirty working-class area in megacity Instanbul, together with her handicapped daughter and her old mother, leading a hand-to-mouth existence. After losing her job, she takes on underpaid work in a textiles factory. The film shows Zeynep’s battle to survive as a woman and how society is disintegrating.

Erdem Tepegöz
Erdem Tepegöz (born 1982), studied economics, before he changed to Prague to study film. He worked as an assistant for Diago Fandos and Ali Özgentürk. After several natinal and international awards THE PARTICLE is his feature film debute.
