The Maltese fisherman Jesmark has become a father. But his expression is not one of joy because of his offspring, but of deep worry lines. The traditional luzzu boat that has been in the family for generations needs to be repaired. Moreover, adequate yields have long been almost impossible due to climate change and competition from industrial trawlers. To survive, the proud fisherman makes fateful decisions. Amateur actor Jesmark is a fisherman himself and a stroke of luck for this film shot in Maltese. His looks and gestures tell impressively of the decline of a proud profession - and how one person deals with it.

Director's Biography:Maltese-American filmmaker, studied English Literature and Documentary Film. Graduation film STILL HERE was awarded Best Student Documentary in Cannes. Worked in editing, directing and as an editor for commercials.
