Abla runs a small bakery in her house in Casablanca, where she lives with her 8-year-old daughter. When Samira, a young pregnant woman, knocks on the door, Abla cannot imagine that her life will change forever... The director Maryam Touzani experienced a similar story as a child in her parental home and during her own pregnancy, she has now staged it, using excellent actresses. Impressive is the warmhearted, deeply loving view of her female characters, whereby this closed world is conveyed to us in wonderful pictures. After the world premiere this year in Cannes, we present the German premiere!

Director's Biography:Maryam Touzani was born and raised in Tangier, Morocco and studied in London. She works as a director, scriptwriter and actress. Married to Nabil Ayouch, she was also involved in his films MUCH LOVED and RAZZIA. ADAM is her debut film as a director.
